Brodsky (’99) receives top award from American Musicological Society

Seth Brodsky (BA, WFU 1999; Ph.D., Eastman School of Music/University of Rochester, 2007) was awarded the highly prestigious Lewis Lockwood Award for outstanding work of musicological scholarship (early stages) from the American Musicological Society (AMS). The award, announced at the annual meeting of the AMS in November, was in recognition of his book, “From 1989, or European Music and the Modernist Unconscious” (University of California Press, 2017).

WFU awarded Lewis Lockwood an honorary doctorate in 2004. Seth is Associate Professor of Musicology at the University of Chicago.
