Kate Storhoff is a Visiting Professor of Music at Wake Forest University. Kate holds a Ph.D. and M.M. in musicology from Florida State University (2018, 2014) and a B.M.E. from Baylor University (2012). She currently serves as the chair of the American Band History Interest Group in the Society for American Music.
Kate’s research examines the American wind ensemble community, focusing especially on contemporary issues relating to canonicity and gender. She is particularly interested in the relationships between conductors and composers in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Kate has presented research at national meetings of the College Music Society and Society for American Music and at regional meetings of the American Musicological Society.
