This past March, Professor of Music and Wake Forest University Composer-in-Residence Dr. Dan Locklair traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts for the world premiere of his composition the Harvard/Ashmont Evening Service.

This premiere was presented by the Harvard Glee Club, Harvard University Choir and the All Saints’ Choir of Men and Boys, with conductors Andrew Clark & Edward Elwyn Jones and organists Andrew Sheranian & David von Behren.

This piece was commissioned to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Archibald T. Davison (1833-1961) who, after previously serving as organist at the Parish of All Saints Church, Ashmont, was the conductor of both the Harvard University Choir and Harvard Glee Club. Dr. Davison’s work with these institutions, as well as his work as faculty member of Harvard’s Department of Music, made him a champion of music education at all levels.

Dr. Locklair’s choral drama Instant Culture will be performed by the MIT Singers on April 21, 2023.

Congratulations to Dr. Locklair!
