Guitar students from the WFU Department of Music and UNCSA participated in a masterclass with the Dublin Guitar Quartet on Wednesday October 25. The Dublin Guitar Quartet also gave a concert in Brendle Recital Hall on Thursday October 26 as part of the Secrest Artists Series.

The critically-acclaimed Dublin Guitar Quartet performs with a focus on contemporary composers including Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Arvo Part, and Gyorgy Ligeti. Their album “Contemporary Irish” includes music by Donnacha Dennehey, Kevin Volans, Eric Sweeney, John McLachlan, Eoin Douglas, David Flynn, Amanda Feery, Brian Ledwidge Flynn, and Brian Bolger. Funding for this album was provided by the Arts Council of Ireland music recording scheme which is managed by Music Network.
