Bass

Double/Electric bassist Court Wynter received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in classical double bass performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He has enjoyed a musical career which has taken him all over the eastern portion of the United States and covers a multitude of genres ranging from bluegrass to jazz.

Mr. Wynter has found success particularly in the genres of classical, bluegrass, Americana, funk fusion and jazz. Since graduating, he has performed with the Charlotte Philharmonic and the Salisbury, Western Piedmont, and Fayetteville Symphonies. His jazz endeavors have taken him all over the state of North Carolina, and in 2013, his jazz ensemble “Court and Friends” won the FCAE Jazz Ensemble of the Year. He currently hosts two weekly jazz events in Winston-Salem, one every Sunday at Foothills Brewery and the other every Wednesday at The Whiskey Box. He has also performed with most of the theaters in the Triad, including the Theater Alliance, Triad Stage, Stained Glass, No Rules Theater, Lewisville Theater, Carolina Theater and in 2019 with the National Black Theater Festival for the production of “Jelly’s Last Jam.”
