Dr. Stewart Carter, professor of Music History and director of Wake Forest University’s Collegium Musicum chamber ensemble, was recently published in Moravian Americans and their Neighbors, 1772-1822 (Brill, 2023).

His article is entitled “Early Performances of Haydn’s Creation in the American South: The Moravian Connection,” and “describes how the Moravians of Salem, North Carolina, were pioneers in presenting important European musical works to local audiences.”

Dr. Carter’s article is available through Brill Publishers and is also available online through the Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest.
